I would like for my countertop
A little metal bowl
That makes a sound when it’s slid across,
Passing sugar it will hold.

And for the cream a little pitcher
Waiting in the cupboard
For mornings when coffee’s needed
And creamer need be offered.

A matching set for a dollar
Bought from Restaurant Supply,
Because janky shit sold at walmart
Cafe-owners would not buy.

Not to say that I am one
Or ever mean to be;
I’d buy to share in the worldly feeling
That cream and sugar can be.
